Broadcast Your Wedding "LIVE" On The Web!

By DJ Scott Shaw - Scott Shaw Productions - Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach is an extremely popular location for destination weddings, and as a wedding DJ located right here in this seaside location, destination weddings account for a large portion of my business. Families and friends come here from miles away to enjoy a ceremony on the beach, wedding reception, and combine it all with some vacation time to boot! This is an absolutely fabulous way to celebrate your wedding, but let's face it, there are always circumstances beyond our control that prevent some of the most important people in your life from being able to make the trip to share your day with you.

The solution? Broadcast your wedding to the web so that they can be a part of your day!

The first time I saw this done was several years ago. The situation was that the bride was from South Korea, and she wanted to share her day with her mother back home. They accomplished the video connection by using Skype. One of the bridesmaids used her I-Phone for this, but I couldn't help but notice how busy she was moving about in order to capture the moments. Also, since this was happening in real time, it took some effort to synchronize the Bride & Groom's timeline with the Skype call. Having the Bride's mother being able to be a part of this wedding from the other side of the world was an amazing thing, but afterwards, I wondered how I could improve upon the experience. Mainly, how could I make this easier for the wedding party, and how could I integrate this experience more smoothly into the timeline that we prepare before the wedding?

With a bit of effort, thought and research, I found some great answers. Rather than use Skype, I discovered a service that streams live video onto the web. I set up and schedule your event, or "program" on the site, and everything is ready to go. All your far away guests need to do is go to the web address that I provide and tune in. In addition to the live feed, your program is archived, so if your guest can't get there on time, they can simply watch it at a later time!

So, if you're planning a destination wedding in Myrtle Beach and would like to share your wedding day with those who are unable to make the trip, be sure to ask us about broadcasting your wedding on the web so that everyone can share the moment with you, whether it's back home or around the globe.
